Our Brand & History

It all began in the year 1993 in Erdington, Birmingham.

A small working class neighbourhood and the start of a chapter for brothers, Bob & John, who opened the doors to their first fish and chip shop. Both brothers, worked relentlessly and tirelessly to pioneer the fast food industry and become the “home of the 99p”. Queues wrapped around the store day and night. No business could cope with the sheer volume, pricing, quality and energy that paved the way for the start of the ‘Big John’s” empire. Fast forward 30 years, Big John’s now operates across 17 stores in 3 different cities in a mix of urban and suburban sites.

How and Why?

Over the years Big John’s has always committed itself to providing the best quality food for the best value for money which in turn which has allowed Big John’s to always stay ahead of the competition and expand throughout the Midlands creating a demand for a Big John’s in every neighbourhood hence branding the nickname “The Neighbourhood Takeaway”.

Mission Statement

Big Johns are committed to providing the local community with the best quality food at the best value pricing. Period.

The
Future

Big Johns has always had a greater vision, that is to elevate its ranks from a regional brand to a national brand. The goal of becoming national will be achieved via franchising. The offering of franchising will allow young aspiring entrepreneurs or seasoned business professionals to become part of the Big John’s Group, and take on a highly successful brand working very closely with experts in the Fast Food industry.
